ジャイアント・サップサッカーは、「サップサッカー（樹液吸い）」と呼ばれるキツツキ科のスフュラピクス属に属する鳥です。その名の通り、この種の中では群を抜いて巨大です。
オスの平均身長は約5フィート（約150cm）、メスは7〜9フィート（約210〜270cm）と、性別によってかなり体格差があります。
彼らは飛ぶことはできませんが、退化した翼の構造を持っており、通常は羽毛に隠れています。体は茶色または黒で、顔に白と赤の模様があります。視力は非常に優れており、ほぼ360度の視野を持ちます。成体になると、その体は森林惑星のあらゆる種の中でも随一の運動能力を誇ります。
食性と生態
食べ物は昆虫、樹液、小型げっ歯類。

Scientific name: Sphyrapicus cursus
The Giant Sapsucker is a woodpecker belonging to the genus Sphyrapicus, also known as sapsuckers. As the name suggests, they are by far the largest of the species. Males on average are 5 feet tall, while females vary anywhere from seven to nine feet. They are flightless birds, although they have a vestigial wing structure which is usually hidden by their plumage. Their bodies are brown or black, with white and red face markings. They are sharp- sighted, with nearly a 360 degree range of vision. A fully grown adult’s body is one of the most athletically capable of all species in the forest planets it typically inhabits.
Their diet consists of insects and tree sap, with the inclusion of small rodents. Giant sapsuckers mate for life, and the adult male typically hunts and forages while the female protects the ground nest. They are fiercely protective mothers, partly due to their opportunistic nature, and if anything crosses their boundaries, they will attempt to feed it to their young in pieces. They are dangerous to humans as well, and it’s recommended to stay out of their territory.
They have been destructive to some forests and ecosystems; although they do not multiply as quickly as other species, they have been known as nomads, travelling very far very quickly, which makes their populations difficult to track.

Giant Sapsuckersは、巣と卵と共にスポーンします。巣と卵に近づくと敵対し、超高速で近づいてきてクチバシで突かれます。クチバシの攻撃は1発10ダメージと少なめですが、連打が凄まじいので生き残るのは絶望的です。
夜になると眠る
Giant Sapsuckersは、夜になると眠ります。ただし、巣の近くで音を立てると起きて襲ってくるので、近づく際はしゃがみかつ声を出さずに近づきましょう。
音を立ててなくても唐突に起きる場合もあるよ
